Pro-Khalistan Graffiti Appears at Delhi Metro Stations Ahead of G20 Summit

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated G20 Summit scheduled to be held in the Indian capital on September 9-10, a series of pro-Khalistan slogans and graffiti have emerged on the walls of multiple Delhi Metro stations. The discovery of these incendiary messages has prompted a law and order situation, with authorities initiating an investigation to uncover the perpetrators behind the defacement.

According to Delhi Police sources, slogans such as “Delhi Banega Khalistan” (Delhi will become Khalistan) and “Khalistan Zindabad” (Long live Khalistan) were found scrawled across at least five metro stations across the city. The Sikh For Justice (SFJ) organization, which seeks an independent Sikh homeland, also released raw footage showcasing the vandalized metro stations and claimed responsibility for the acts.

With the G20 Summit drawing the attention of over 30 heads of state, senior officials from the European Union, and representatives from various invited guest countries and international organizations, the security measures surrounding the event are of paramount importance. Delhi Police have assured heightened vigilance and are meticulously monitoring social media platforms to prevent the spread of rumors, inflammatory content, and to identify any potential criminal elements.

In response to the pro-Khalistan slogans, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) expressed its cooperation with Delhi Police in managing the situation. “It is a law and order situation. We will cooperate with the Delhi Police,” stated a DMRC official, highlighting the shared commitment to maintaining public order and security.

To address any potential medical emergencies during the summit, a comprehensive medical response plan has been put in place. 80 teams of doctors, along with 130 ambulances, will be on standby to provide immediate medical assistance if required. Delhi’s Lt Governor VK Saxena reviewed the preparations and revealed that 60 deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) have been assigned specific roles to ensure the smooth execution of the summit.

As part of the security strategy, all entry points into the national capital will be tightly sealed to prevent unauthorized access. However, regular vehicular and public movement will continue uninterrupted, aiming to minimize inconvenience to the general public.

As the investigation into the pro-Khalistan graffiti continues, the authorities remain committed to maintaining a secure environment for the G20 Summit and safeguarding the reputation of the city as an international host. The international gathering is anticipated to serve as a platform for significant discussions on global economic issues and cooperation among world leaders.
