Delhi Police Nabs Four Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants with Forged Documents; Property Dealing Racket Busted

In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police has arrested four illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, including three operating as property dealers, from Bawana and Mahipalpur areas of the national capital. The arrests were made following tip-offs and surveillance, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Mustaq and his sons Shahid Khan and Mintu, were living in Bawana’s JJ Colony for over two decades using forged Indian identity documents, including fake birth certificates. Police officials revealed that the trio had entered India illegally from Bangladesh via West Bengal and eventually settled in Delhi. Over time, they became active in the local real estate market as unlicensed property dealers.

Another Bangladeshi national, identified as Md Monto, was apprehended from the Mahipalpur area while seeking rental accommodation. He later admitted to illegally entering India 15 years ago and failing to procure any valid documentation.

“During the interrogation, the accused initially denied any links to Bangladesh and attempted to mislead investigators using forged documents. However, after sustained questioning and verification processes, their illegal status was confirmed,” said a senior police officer involved in the operation.

The suspects reportedly procured the fake documents with the help of local agents in West Bengal and Delhi. Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.

Following legal formalities, Md Monto was handed over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to initiate deportation procedures. Authorities are further investigating the network of agents that facilitated the procurement of forged documents for illegal immigrants.

The police said such operations will continue as part of an intensified drive to identify and act against foreign nationals residing illegally in the capital.
