New Delhi’s Rohini witnessed chaos on Saturday afternoon after the discovery of an unclaimed black box in Prashant Vihar, causing panic among residents and disrupting traffic. The incident prompted a swift response from local authorities, including the Delhi Police and a bomb disposal squad.
According to officials, a PCR call was made at 1:28 pm reporting a suspicious package. Responding immediately, a police team along with a bomb squad arrived at the location to assess the situation. After a thorough examination, authorities confirmed that the box was harmless and contained nothing dangerous, as reported by PTI.
Despite the all-clear, the area remained blocked for nearly an hour, leading to significant traffic delays as commuters were forced to wait until the situation was resolved.
Bomb Threats in Delhi and Noida Schools
The panic over the suspicious package came just a day after multiple bomb threats were reported in Delhi and Noida schools. On Friday, Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar Phase-1 and Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College received bomb threat emails early in the morning, prompting anti-sabotage checks with bomb detection and disposal squads.
Later in the day, a private school in Noida also received a bomb threat email, making it the fifth school in the city to receive such a warning within three days, according to senior police officials. Security agencies remain on high alert as investigations into these threats continue.
