PM Modi Accuses BRS and AAP of Corruption, Calls KCR Government “Most Corrupt”

Date:

In a recent public address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a veiled dig at the ruling BRS in Telangana and the AAP government in Delhi, expressing his concern over allegations of corruption deals between two political parties and state governments. PM Modi highlighted the unusual nature of such allegations, stating that while pacts between state governments for welfare and development projects are common, this is the first time they are being leveled against two parties.

The Prime Minister’s comments came in the context of the ongoing Delhi excise policy case, where AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Similarly, K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, appeared before the ED for questioning in connection with the same case.

During a public meeting, after laying the foundation stone for various projects worth Rs 6100 crore in Telangana, PM Modi criticized the BRS government, calling it the “most corrupt.” He expressed disappointment that corruption allegations seem to pervade every project in the state.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the recent 2021 Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, where the BJP performed well, indicating a potential strong showing in the upcoming Assembly polls. PM Modi emphasized that the BJP does not engage in distributing fake guarantee cards to people before elections and declared that Telangana now says ‘ab ki baar, BJP sarkar’ (this time, BJP government).

Reflecting on Telangana’s contribution to the BJP’s growth, PM Modi acknowledged the early presence of BJP Lok Sabha MP Janga Reddy from Hanamkonda and highlighted how the party has become the largest political party in the world today.

The Prime Minister further underlined the significant investments in Telangana, such as the Rs 36000 crore worth National Highway projects, as well as the increased allocation of funds in the railway budget, which is 17 times higher than in 2014.

PM Modi’s statements are expected to further intensify the political landscape in Telangana, with the BJP aiming for a clean sweep against the BRS and Congress in the upcoming Assembly polls.

It remains to be seen how these allegations of corruption and the Prime Minister’s criticisms will impact the political dynamics in both Delhi and Telangana, as the investigations into the Delhi excise policy case continue.
