The Indian Air Force (IAF) rapidly responded to reports of an unidentified flying object (UFO) sighted near the Imphal airport, dispatching Rafale fighter jets for an immediate search operation.
The mysterious sighting occurred around 2:30 pm, causing disruptions to a few commercial flights operating in the area. Upon receiving information about the UFO, the IAF swiftly deployed a Rafale fighter aircraft from a nearby airbase to investigate the reported sighting.
Defence sources confirmed that the equipped aircraft conducted a meticulous low-altitude search over the suspected region, utilizing advanced sensors in an attempt to locate the UFO. However, despite the thorough search, the aircraft did not spot anything unusual in the area. Subsequently, another Rafale fighter was dispatched for a secondary search, yet the elusive object remained untraceable.
Videos capturing the UFO hovering over Imphal airport prompted concerned agencies to intensify efforts to ascertain further details about the sighting. While Imphal airport operations resumed after clearance, the Eastern Command of the Indian Air Force, stationed in Shillong, activated its Air Defence response mechanism in response to the visual inputs from the airport. The command later confirmed that the unidentified object was not detected following the initial sighting.
The IAF’s Rafale fighters, stationed at the Hashimara air base in West Bengal, routinely operate across various air bases in the eastern sector along the China border. Notably, these jets recently participated in the extensive Air Force exercise “Poorvi Akash” along the China border, showcasing the integration of major air force assets alongside army troops.
The incident involving the deployment of Rafale jets in pursuit of the UFO near Imphal airport adds a captivating chapter to the ongoing exploration of unidentified aerial phenomena.
