Tech billionaire Elon Musk met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s visit to the United States, accompanied by his partner Shivon Zilis and their three children—Azure, Strider, and X (whom Musk shares with his ex-partner Grimes).
This marks the second public appearance of Ms. Zilis alongside Musk in the past six months. The meeting took place at Blair House in Washington, where discussions centered on technology, space exploration, and innovation.
Who Is Shivon Zilis?
Shivon Zilis, 39, is a Canadian-born entrepreneur with Indian heritage from her mother, Sharda N, and Canadian ancestry from her father, Richard Zilis. A Yale University graduate, she has built an impressive career in artificial intelligence, venture capitalism, and technology.
Currently, Ms. Zilis serves as the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, Musk’s brain-chip startup. Previously, she worked as a project director for Tesla (2017-2019) and was an advisor to OpenAI, the AI research company co-founded by Sam Altman.
A respected name in the investment world, she was a founding member of Bloomberg Beta, leading nine investments since its launch. In 2015, she was named in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for venture capitalists and also featured in LinkedIn’s 35 Under 35.
Zilis and Musk’s Relationship
Ms. Zilis and Elon Musk share three children together. In 2021, they welcomed twins, Azure and Strider, the same year Musk had his second child with Grimes. In 2024, they had a third child together.
While their relationship has never been formally acknowledged, reports suggest Zilis moved into Musk’s Texas compound, which he built for his 11 children.
The duo was previously seen together in November 2023 at a gala at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, where Zilis remained in the background while Musk posed with their daughter, Azure.

PM Modi also gifted Musk’s children three books:
- The Crescent Moon by Rabindranath Tagore

PM Modi shared pictures from the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), where Musk’s children could be seen reading the books.

This is not the first time Musk and Modi have met. In 2015, the Indian Prime Minister visited the Tesla headquarters in San Jose, where he received a personal tour from Musk.
