The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is currently investigating the accuracy of this reading, as it significantly exceeds the temperatures recorded at other stations across the city.

Delhi is experiencing scorching temperatures, with several parts of the city surpassing 47 degrees Celsius, leading to a 'red alert' being issued for the next five days by the weather office. This extreme heatwave has prompted significant measures from authorities, including the closure of schools and heightened care for both people and animals.

Heatwave Easing Across India as IMD Predicts Change in Weather Patterns

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a relief from the heatwave that has gripped the nation, with the exception of West Rajasthan and Kerala which remain hotspots. While West Rajasthan is still under a heatwave alert, the IMD has downgraded it to a yellow alert due to mitigating factors. The change in weather is attributed to a strong moisture flow from the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to bring thunderstorm activity across various regions.
