In a significant development, a senior Maoist leader, Jayaram Reddy, also known as Chalapati, carrying a ₹1 crore bounty, was killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in the Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. The clash, which occurred in a forested area along the Chhattisgarh-Odisha border, led to the deaths of at least 20 Maoists.

“Deadly Encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Abujhmarh: 8 Maoists and 1 Security Personnel Killed”

An intense encounter between security forces and Maoists in Abujhmarh, a hilly forest area spanning Narayanpur, Bijapur, and Dantewada districts of Chhattisgarh, has resulted in the death of at least 8 Maoists and one security personnel. Two others were injured during the operation.

In a significant operation against Maoist insurgents, security forces in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district eliminated seven Maoists in an encounter along the inter-district border involving District Reserve Group (DRG) personnel. The operation, which occurred near the Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Kondagaon districts, resulted in the recovery of weapons from the encounter site, as confirmed by Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar.

In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested retired Chhattisgarh IAS officer Anil Tuteja in connection with an alleged liquor scam linked to money laundering in the state. The arrest came after the ED detained Tuteja from the Economic Offences Wing (EOW)/Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) office in Raipur, where he and his son Yash Tuteja were recording their statements regarding the same case.
