Netanyahu Warns of Strikes Across Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions with Hezbollah

Date:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong warning, stating that Israel will “strike everywhere in Lebanon” in response to any threat against the country. His remarks come after Israel launched an airstrike on southern Beirut, marking the first such attack since a November ceasefire with Hezbollah militants.

Netanyahu’s Warning

In an official statement on Friday, Netanyahu declared that Israel’s approach has changed, vowing not to tolerate any attacks on its territory.

“The equation has changed… we will not allow any fire on our communities,” he said.

He further emphasized that Israel will take aggressive action if necessary, adding, “We will continue to enforce the ceasefire with force, strike everywhere in Lebanon against any threat to the State of Israel, and ensure that all our residents in the north return safely to their homes.”

Tensions with Hezbollah

The airstrike in southern Beirut comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, which have engaged in cross-border exchanges in recent months. The November ceasefire had temporarily halted large-scale hostilities, but sporadic skirmishes have continued.

Netanyahu’s latest statement signals a more assertive military stance, potentially escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as with Lebanon as a whole.
