YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia Apologises After Backlash Over Roast Show Remark

YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has issued a public apology following a major controversy over his remarks on a roast show. The 31-year-old influencer admitted that his comment was inappropriate and stated that “comedy is not my forte.”

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Allahbadia shared a video message with the caption: “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.”

“It Wasn’t Cool”: Allahbadia’s Apology

In the video, Allahbadia acknowledged his mistake, saying, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry.”

He also responded to the criticism about using his platform irresponsibly, adding, “Obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part.”

Allahbadia further emphasized that his audience includes people of all ages, and he takes that responsibility seriously. “Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect,” he said, promising to be more mindful in the future.

What Led to the Controversy?

The controversy erupted after a video clip from the show India’s Got Latent went viral, showing Allahbadia asking a contestant an offensive question:

“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”

The inappropriate remark triggered widespread outrage, with netizens slamming Allahbadia for crossing the line. Multiple police complaints were filed against him, and politicians across party lines condemned his words.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Reacts

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was among those who criticized Allahbadia, stating that such content was unacceptable. “I have been informed about this, though I have not watched it yet. I came to know that it was very vulgar and this was wrong,” he said.

Fadnavis further emphasized that while freedom of speech is a fundamental right, it should not infringe upon others’ dignity. “Everyone has limits, and if anyone crosses them, action will be taken,” he warned.

Ranveer Allahbadia’s Next Steps

In his apology, Allahbadia stated that he had asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections. “I promise to just get better. All I can say in the end is I am sorry. I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he concluded.
