Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump took a moment to publicly praise his wife, Melania Trump, during a victory speech delivered Wednesday at the Palm Beach Convention Centre in Florida. As he neared the halfway point in the race for the U.S. presidency, Trump expressed his gratitude for Melania’s support, her hard work, and her contribution to his campaign.
In his address, Trump highlighted the success of Melania’s memoir, which he proudly stated was the top-selling book in the country. The book covers various aspects of her life, including her pro-choice stance on abortion, her first meeting with Donald Trump at a New York City nightclub, and addressing rumors about her son, Barron, possibly having autism. However, the memoir was notably light on many personal details.
“She works very hard to help people. So, I just wanted to thank her,” Trump said, pausing in his speech to kiss Melania on the cheek, a moment that drew applause from the crowd.
As he continued his remarks, Trump promised that if he secured the presidency, he would usher in a “golden age” for America, referring to the mandate he believed he had earned as “unprecedented and powerful.” His speech also touched on his commitment to help the nation heal and bring about a new era of prosperity.
Also present at the event were Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, both of whom Trump praised for their ongoing support throughout the campaign process. Reflecting on his political journey, Trump described the movement surrounding his campaign as “the greatest political movement of all time,” adding that it was a phenomenon never before seen in the country, possibly even beyond its borders.
The speech marked a key moment in the lead-up to the presidential inauguration, scheduled for January 20. As the race intensifies, Trump’s focus on his wife, Melania, alongside his running mate and their families, reinforced the theme of unity and strength as he prepared for the final stretch of the campaign.
