15 Killed, 16 Injured in Bus-Van Collision on Agra-Aligarh National Highway

On Friday, a tragic accident on National Highway 93 resulted in the deaths of 15 people, including four women and four children, after a roadways bus collided with a van. The collision occurred near Kanwarpur village, about 10 kilometers from the district headquarters, on the Agra-Aligarh National Highway.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Nipun Agarwal, the accident happened when the bus attempted to overtake the van, causing the impact that led to the fatalities. Sixteen other individuals were injured in the crash and have been admitted to a government hospital for treatment.

In response to the tragedy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed district officials to provide immediate relief and ensure proper medical care for the injured. The Chief Minister’s office is coordinating with local authorities to manage the situation and support the victims.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and wished for the swift recovery of those injured. He announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of each of the deceased and ₹50,000 for those who were injured. President Droupadi Murmu also offered her condolences and prayers for the victims and their families through a post on social media.
