Porsche Crash: Four Individuals Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody in Pune

In connection with the tragic Porsche crash case that claimed the lives of two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh, a Pune court has remanded two doctors, a hospital staffer, and an additional individual in 14-day judicial custody. The incident occurred in Kalyani Nagar, where a speeding Porsche allegedly driven by a drunk minor boy collided with a motorcycle in the early hours of the day.

The individuals remanded to custody include Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and Atul Ghatkamble, all associated with Sassoon General Hospital, along with Amar Gaikwad. They were produced before the district additional sessions judge VR Kachare, who ordered their judicial custody for 14 days.

The accused doctors are alleged to have conspired with the juvenile’s parents to manipulate blood samples meant for alcohol consumption tests. Gaikwad, acting as a middleman, facilitated communication between the accused doctors and the juvenile’s father, as per police reports.

During the court proceedings, Investigating Officer Sunil Tambe highlighted the need for Gaikwad’s continued custody, citing the generation of crucial information regarding his role in the case. This extension is sought despite Gaikwad’s current police custody ending on June 10.

The incident has drawn attention to the legal ramifications of such accidents involving minors and the complexities involved in investigating and prosecuting cases involving alleged conspiracies and cover-ups.
