Date:

In a heart-wrenching incident, two Indian students, G Dinesh (22) from Wanaparthy in Telangana and Nikesh (21) from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, were discovered dead in their accommodation in Connecticut, USA, mere two weeks after moving there for higher studies.

Family members of the Telangana student, G Dinesh, were left bewildered as they received a call from Dinesh’s friends in a nearby room, informing them of his sudden demise and that of his roommate. The cause of their deaths remains unknown, adding to the distress of the grieving families.

Dinesh, who had embarked on his journey for higher studies in Hartford, Connecticut, on December 28, 2023, was accompanied by his friend Nikesh, who joined him a few days later. The two, already acquainted through mutual friends, became roommates upon their arrival in the US.

The family members of G Dinesh have sought assistance from Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to facilitate the repatriation of Dinesh’s body. Wanaparthy MLA Megha Reddy has also extended support in this difficult time, offering comfort to the grieving family.

Despite their close connection in the US, the family of G Dinesh remains unaware of any details regarding Nikesh or his family. Srikakulam district administration and police are also without information on Nikesh.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss, Wanaparthy MLA T Megha Reddy met with Dinesh’s family, conveying condolences and assuring them of efforts to bring the student’s body back to India. The MLA engaged with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who responded affirmatively, pledging arrangements for the repatriation of Dinesh’s remains to his native place.

The sudden and mysterious demise of the two promising students has cast a pall of sorrow over their families and communities. As investigations into the cause of their deaths continue, the families are grappling with the emotional turmoil of losing their loved ones in a foreign land.
