
The Adani Group has announced a substantial investment of ₹8,700 crore in Bihar, spanning various sectors, aiming to generate employment opportunities for approximately 10,000 individuals, as revealed by Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises.
Addressing the plenary session of Bihar Business Connect 2023, an initiative by the Nitish Kumar-led government to attract investments and bolster job creation in the state, Pranav Adani unveiled the conglomerate’s ambitious investment plans.
Highlighting Bihar’s emergence as an appealing investment destination, Mr. Adani expressed admiration for the visible transformation in social reforms, law and order, literacy, and women empowerment within the state.
The Adani Group has already contributed ₹850 crore in Bihar, focusing on logistics and gas distribution, fostering around 3,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. Emphasizing a ten-fold increase in investment, Pranav Adani outlined the ₹8,700 crore investment strategy across various sectors to bolster Bihar’s development.
The conglomerate is exploring ventures such as Adani Wilmar Group, a joint venture specializing in the food and beverages sector, and initiating cement manufacturing projects targeting a production capacity of 10 million metric tonnes, expected to generate about 3,000 jobs.
Furthermore, the Group eyes venturing into manufacturing smart electricity meters, intending to install 28 lakh meters across five cities in Bihar.
Commending the Chief Minister’s focus on enhancing the state’s Ease of Doing Business, Pranav Adani expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement extended by the government. He assured periodic updates on the investments made in Bihar, pledging transparency and collaboration.
The Adani Group’s substantial commitment to Bihar signifies a significant leap towards bolstering economic growth, fostering employment, and furthering developmental initiatives within the state.
