BJP Accuses Karnataka Congress of 'Cash for Posting' Scandal Based on Viral Video

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress, citing a viral video purportedly showing Yathindra, the son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, discussing ‘transfer and posting’ matters. BJP’s R Ashoka alleges this as proof of corruption, equating the state’s governance to an ATM for political gains. Refuting Congress’ earlier allegations against the BJP, Ashoka claims the video confirms a “60 per cent commission government” operating in Karnataka.

The Opposition Leader in the Assembly, R Ashoka, highlighted the video as evidence of a “transfer business” involving cash transactions for favorable job appointments within the state. Accusations of extortion and unethical practices have intensified the political standoff ahead of the upcoming winter session in Belagavi, scheduled to commence on December 4.

Amidst this controversy, Yathindra, embroiled in the viral video, faces allegations from both BJP and JD(S), claiming the conversation indicates involvement in a “cash for postings” scandal. However, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has vehemently defended his son, asserting that Yathindra’s discussion pertained to selecting schools for development using Corporate Social Responsibility funds, dismissing any link to corrupt practices.
