In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the region, a high-speed collision involving a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a petrol tanker on the New Delhi-Mumbai expressway in Haryana’s Nuh has resulted in two fatalities and left a prominent industrialist injured. The injured individual has been identified as Vikas Malu, a director associated with the Kuber Group. The crash occurred with such force that it mangled the luxury car and caused a fiery blaze.
The tragedy unfolded on Tuesday when the Rolls-Royce Phantom, traveling at an extremely high speed, collided with a petrol tanker on the expressway. The collision was of such intensity that the petrol tanker’s driver and his assistant lost their lives instantly. The petrol tanker was reportedly attempting a U-turn when the luxury car rammed into it.
Nuh Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijaraniya confirmed that Vikas Malu was among the occupants of the Rolls-Royce during the accident. Mr. Malu is currently undergoing treatment at the Medanta hospital in Gurugram. The other occupants of the luxury car, apart from the driver, sustained injuries and are also receiving medical care.
“We are in the process of investigating the incident,” said Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijaraniya. He further confirmed that an FIR has been registered at the Nagina police station, and the police are closely scrutinizing the CCTV footage along the expressway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
The police are particularly interested in understanding the exact speed at which the Rolls-Royce was traveling before the collision. “The truck had taken a U-turn on the highway, and the Phantom was traveling at a very high speed when the accident took place,” stated Superintendent Bijaraniya. He mentioned that the speed details will be confirmed after a thorough scientific examination.
Gautam, one of the occupants of the tanker, recounted the harrowing moments of the crash from his hospital bed. Struggling with his injuries, Gautam stated that the luxury car was traveling at a speed of at least 190 km/hour. The force of the collision caused the truck to overturn, resulting in a massive blaze.
The images from the accident site paint a grim picture. The Rolls-Royce Phantom, a vehicle known for its luxury and opulence, was severely damaged with the front mangled and the engine ablaze. The doors of the car lay open, a stark contrast to its usual elegance. The petrol tanker, on the other hand, was consumed by flames, leaving only a heap of metal in its wake.
The incident has not only highlighted the devastating impact of high-speed collisions but has also raised questions about road safety and the need for stricter traffic regulations. As investigations continue, authorities are determined to uncover the exact sequence of events that led to this tragic accident.
