Following the shocking murder of veteran politician Baba Siddique, his son, Zeeshan Siddique, an MLA from the Vandre East constituency, has been identified as another target of the Bishnoi gang. Police sources revealed that the shooters responsible for Baba Siddique’s death confessed to being contracted to eliminate both father and son.
The contract was reportedly issued with the understanding that both Baba and Zeeshan would be present at the crime scene on the evening of the attack. In the event that they could not kill them together, the shooters were instructed to eliminate whichever target they encountered first.
Baba Siddique was gunned down outside his son’s office last Saturday night. In a brazen assault, the shooters deployed chili powder against a police constable assigned to protect him, allowing them to carry out the fatal attack. Following the incident, two shooters—Gurmail Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharmaraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh—were apprehended, while a third shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, managed to flee and is currently on the run. Police believe he was last spotted near Panvel.
In response to the unfolding situation, multiple police teams have been mobilized across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi in pursuit of Gautam. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell is conducting a thorough investigation into the murder.
Authorities have discovered that the three shooters were residing in Kurla and frequently traveled to Bandra in auto rickshaws to survey the areas frequented by Baba Siddique and his son. Their reconnaissance included visits to the family’s residence, office, and various events.
Zeeshan Siddique, who was expelled from the Congress party earlier this year due to allegations of cross-voting during legislative council elections, is now under heightened security measures following the recent threats against his life.
As investigations continue, the city remains on high alert as police work tirelessly to ensure the safety of political figures in the wake of this shocking incident.
