Terrorists Open Fire on Army Vehicle in Rajouri’s Sunderbani, No Casualties Reported

Terrorists opened fire on an Army vehicle in the Sunderbani area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from security forces.

Attack on Army Patrol Vehicle

The firing incident took place around 1 pm near Phall village along the Sunderbani-Malla Road, close to the Line of Control (LoC). Officials confirmed that a patrol vehicle belonging to the 9 JAK Rifles was targeted with one or two rounds while conducting surveillance in the region.

The area is known for being a traditional infiltration route used by militants, raising security concerns. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.

A Defence spokesperson confirmed the firing but did not provide further details. Additional forces have been deployed, and the area has been cordoned off as the Army intensifies its search operation.

Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead in Punjab

In a separate incident, a Pakistani intruder was shot dead early Wednesday morning by Border Security Force (BSF) troops along the international border in Pathankot, Punjab.

BSF personnel spotted suspicious movement near the Border Outpost Tashpatan. Despite multiple warnings, the intruder crossed into Indian territory and was subsequently shot dead. Officials are working to ascertain his identity.
