Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, where he will unveil a series of significant infrastructure and development projects, including the much-anticipated ₹11,895 crore Delhi-Vadodara Expressway.
The Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, developed at a cost of ₹11,895 crore, is a major transportation artery that will connect the national capital Delhi with Vadodara in Gujarat. This modern expressway is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel times, and boost economic activities along its route.
Additionally, during his visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for five distinct road projects valued at over ₹1,880 crore, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving the road infrastructure in the region.
In a major boost to affordable housing, the Prime Minister will initiate the ‘grih pravesh’ (housewarming) ceremony for over 2.2 lakh homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G). Furthermore, he will inaugurate houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban, with an estimated cost of approximately ₹140 crore.
The visit also includes the launch of projects related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, with a total worth exceeding ₹1,530 crore. These projects will significantly benefit more than 720 villages in the Gwalior and Sheopur districts by ensuring access to clean and reliable drinking water.

This visit marks the Prime Minister’s fourth trip to Madhya Pradesh in less than two months and his eighth visit in the last seven months. It comes at a crucial time as Assembly elections in the state are expected to be held at the end of the year, making these development initiatives and projects significant in the political landscape.
