In a tragic incident, two police personnel were found dead and another injured inside a police vehicle in Udhampur on Sunday morning. The incident, suspected to be a case of fratricide, has shocked the local police force.

Details of the Incident

Amod Ashok Nagpure, SSP Udhampur, stated that the incident occurred at 6:30 am as the police personnel were traveling from Sopore to the Talwara training center. An AK-47 rifle was reportedly used in the attack. “Two police personnel have died, and a third officer is safe. Their bodies will be taken to GMC Udhampur for postmortem and other procedures,” he said.

Nagpure also confirmed that the incident appears to be a case of fratricide, possibly followed by suicide, although further investigation is required to determine the exact sequence of events.

Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the Udhampur incident to uncover the truth behind the suspected fratricide. “The truth will emerge once the investigation is completed,” SSP Nagpure said.

This spate of incidents underscores the challenges and risks faced by security personnel in the region, raising questions about internal conflicts and security measures.
