"Delhi Anticipates Rain, Himachal Braces for Intense Snowfall Next Week: IMD Forecast"

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain showers in Delhi and intense snowfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh next week. According to the forecast, the national capital along with adjoining areas of Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh will experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Delhi is expected to witness partly cloudy skies on Monday night, followed by light to moderate rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cloudy weather is forecasted for Friday, with an improvement expected by Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to range around 27°C and 9°C respectively.

On the other hand, Himachal Pradesh is gearing up for heavy rain and snowfall along with thunderstorms. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in isolated areas on February 18 and 19, followed by a yellow warning for heavy rain/snow accompanied by thunderstorms on February 20 and 21.

The anticipation of heavy precipitation in Himachal Pradesh comes as a fresh western disturbance approaches the western Himalayan region. This weather system is expected to bring heavy rains in lower hills and rains and snow in mid and higher hills.

The state of Himachal Pradesh has experienced a deficit in rainfall during the winter season, with average rainfall recorded at 68.2 mm from January 1 to February 17, significantly below the normal average of 142.2 mm. Except for Mandi, all districts have reported deficit rains ranging between 15% and 83%.

With these weather predictions, both Delhi and Himachal Pradesh are preparing for significant weather events in the coming week. Residents and authorities are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during adverse weather conditions.
