As 2024 comes to a close, New Delhi remains gripped by a relentless cold wave accompanied by dense fog. On New Year’s Eve, the national capital experienced another chilly morning with limited visibility, adding to the seasonal challenges faced by residents.

Parts of North India are set to enter 2025 under the grip of cold wave conditions, with rain and snow expected to continue across several states, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather agency has forecast a cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan from December 30 to January 2.

Delhi experienced a slight increase in temperature on Saturday while continuing to receive light rain in various parts of the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature for the day was recorded at 35.5°C, marginally higher than the previous day's 35.2°C. The minimum temperature was logged at 27.2°C, up from Friday's 25.3°C.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain showers in Delhi and intense snowfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh next week. According to the forecast, the national capital along with adjoining areas of Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh will experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts "heavy to very heavy" rainfall in Kerala on Monday, with orange alerts issued for specific districts. The state has been experiencing frequent showers and flooding, while neighboring Tamil Nadu also witnesses heavy rainfall.
