PM Modi Halts Convoy to Allow Ambulance Passage During Varanasi Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi exhibited a poignant act of compassion as his convoy paused to make way for an ambulance during his roadshow in Varanasi. In a video capturing the moment, the convoy, flanked by security personnel, came to a halt on the side of a barricaded road, ensuring the swift passage of the ambulance.

PM Modi’s visit to Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, witnessed this humane gesture amid a flurry of developmental initiatives. Scheduled to launch projects worth ₹19,000 crore aimed at the region’s development, he is also set to inaugurate the second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam and flag off a new train connecting Kanyakumari to Varanasi.

This isn’t the first instance of PM Modi exemplifying empathy by allowing an ambulance to pass unhindered. Similar incidents were reported in Ahmedabad and Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra last year. Notably, PM Modi has consistently advocated against the VIP culture and prioritized the welfare of citizens.

In a poignant event in 2019, he interrupted his speech to call for an ambulance when a cameraman collapsed while covering the event, showcasing his commitment to prompt and humane response to medical emergencies.

The Prime Minister’s actions echo his emphasis on the significance of timely healthcare access and the avoidance of VIP privileges over citizens’ urgent medical needs. This gesture, reflective of his commitment to service and empathy, further strengthens his stance against ostentatious displays of authority.
