In a disturbing incident, Mumbai resident Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao was left traumatized after discovering a human finger in the ice cream he ordered online. The incident occurred when Dr. Serrao, residing in Malad, included ice cream in his grocery order, only to find an unexpected and horrifying “topping” in his dessert.
Upon consuming half of the butterscotch ice cream from Yummo brand, Dr. Serrao felt a solid object in his mouth, initially mistaking it for a nut or chocolate piece. However, upon closer examination, he realized it was a human finger, complete with nails and fingerprint impressions, resembling a thumb. Thankfully, Dr. Serrao did not swallow the object but was left traumatized by the experience.
Dr. Serrao immediately preserved the finger in an ice pack and reported the incident to the Malad police, leading to a case being registered against Yummo for food adulteration and endangering human life. The police have sent the ice cream and the finger for forensic analysis to ascertain the details of this shocking discovery.
The presence of a human body part in a food item has raised concerns about potential criminal activities, prompting the police to launch a thorough investigation into the matter. Yummo Ice Creams, co-founded by Walko Food Co. Ltd. in 2012, now faces scrutiny over this alarming incident.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of food safety and quality control measures in the food industry, highlighting the need for stringent regulations to prevent such occurrences in the future.
