The Election Commission has directed the immediate transfer of Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police KV Rajendranath Reddy, ahead of the upcoming elections in the state. This move comes as the poll authority prepares for the simultaneous assembly and Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 13.

The Election Commission has instructed the state government to submit names of three eligible Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in the rank of director general by Monday to fill the vacant position left by KV Rajendranath Reddy.
