Detonators and Empty Gas Cylinder Discovered on Train Tracks in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh

Date:

In a shocking turn of events, authorities reported the discovery of detonators and a gas cylinder on railway tracks in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, raising serious safety concerns.

Detonators Found in Madhya Pradesh

On Wednesday, ten detonators were located on the railway tracks near Sagphata railway station in Burhanpur district, Madhya Pradesh. This alarming incident occurred as an army special train was en route from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnataka.

The train driver noticed an explosion as the train passed over the detonators and promptly halted the train. He immediately alerted the station master, ensuring no injuries were reported. Senior officials from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the National Investigation Agency (NIA), railway authorities, and local police are actively investigating the situation.

Gas Cylinder Discovered in Uttar Pradesh

In a related incident, an empty gas cylinder was found on the tracks near Prempur railway station in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This discovery forced the goods train’s loco pilot to apply emergency brakes at around 8:10 am while heading to Prayagraj from Kanpur. The five-kilogram capacity cylinder was confirmed empty and has since been removed from the tracks.

This marks the second such incident in Uttar Pradesh this month. On September 8, an attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express by placing an LPG cylinder on the tracks, underscoring growing concerns about railway safety.

Authorities are investigating both incidents to ensure the safety of passengers and the integrity of railway operations.
