A wedding ceremony in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district turned chaotic as the bride’s family attempted to kidnap her, resorting to the use of chilli powder against the groom and his relatives. The tumultuous event unfolded in Kadiam village near Rajahmundry, where the newly married bride, Gangavaram Sneha, was forcibly taken by her family members. The scene depicted in the video showcases a struggle between the bride’s family and the groom, who fiercely resisted their attempts to separate him from his wife.
Sneha, originally from Kurnool district, found love with Battina Venkatanandu during their time in Narasaraopet. Their love culminated in a temple wedding on April 13, followed by a formal ceremony with the consent of the groom’s parents on April 21 in Kadiam village.
During the ceremony, chaos ensued as the bride’s family stormed the venue, aiming to take Sneha away against her wishes. In their aggressive pursuit, they hurled chilli powder at the groom and his relatives, causing chaos and distress among the guests.
Despite the bride’s family’s efforts, they were thwarted by the groom’s relatives, leading to a failed abduction attempt. However, one of the groom’s friends suffered injuries during the altercation. In response, Sneha’s family is now facing serious criminal charges, including assault, attempted kidnapping, and theft of gold belongings.
Authorities, led by the Kadiam Circle Inspector, are actively pursuing the legal repercussions of this incident. The filing of criminal charges against Sneha’s family underscores the gravity of the situation and the determination to uphold the law in cases of familial disputes turned violent.
