Massive Fire Engulfs Car-Mat and Seat-Cover Godown in East Delhi's Karawal Nagar

A raging fire erupted in a car-mat and seat-cover godown located in the Karawal Nagar area of East Delhi on Sunday, triggering a prompt response from the authorities. Reports indicate that the inferno broke out near Kali Ghata road, prompting immediate action from the Delhi Fire Service.

The distress call reporting the fire engulfing the godown was received around 3:54 pm, prompting the dispatch of twelve fire tenders to the scene, as confirmed by a Delhi Fire Service official. The blaze erupted within a building spanning approximately 500 square yards, comprising both the ground and first floor.

Both the fire department and local police swiftly engaged in efforts to contain the blaze and secure the area. Preliminary investigations suggest that the godown, housing car-mats and seat-covers, was the epicenter of the fiery incident.

An official reported that the fire-fighting operation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to bring the situation under control. Meanwhile, a senior police officer confirmed the commencement of a thorough investigation to determine the cause behind the outbreak of the inferno.

“We have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. If anyone is found responsible, appropriate legal action will be taken,” stated the senior police official, emphasizing the importance of identifying the cause behind this alarming incident.

As the authorities continue their diligent efforts to contain the blaze and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the fire, the local community remains vigilant, hoping for a swift resolution to the situation that has engulfed the Karawal Nagar area in East Delhi.
