Amit Shah Foresees India as a $5 Trillion Economy by 2025; Hails Uttarakhand's Progress at Investors Summit

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, addressed the closing session of the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit – 2023 in Dehradun, emphasizing India’s projected growth and applauding the transformative journey of Uttarakhand under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

During the summit, which witnessed the signing of MoUs worth ₹3.5 lakh crore, Shah projected a promising future for Uttarakhand, envisioning it as a global exemplar in eco-friendly industrial connectivity. He emphasized the belief of PM Modi in designating the upcoming decade as Uttarakhand’s era of significant development.

In his address, Shah lauded Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s leadership, particularly highlighting Dhami’s swift and effective response in overseeing the successful rescue of 41 laborers trapped in a tunnel. He acknowledged the nation’s concern and the PM’s personal monitoring of the situation, commending Dhami’s leadership traits exhibited during the crisis.

Reflecting on Uttarakhand’s evolution, Shah credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for its creation, lauded PM Modi’s transformative initiatives, and underscored the state’s continued progress under current leadership.

Shah echoed PM Modi’s visionary aspirations for India, envisaging the country as a $5 trillion economy by the end of 2025. He praised India’s leadership in climate change advocacy, spearheading the ‘Make in India’ initiative, and championing global counter-terrorism efforts.

Highlighting India’s advancements under PM Modi’s governance, Shah spotlighted the upliftment of 13.5 crore people from poverty, the doubling of per capita income, and the remarkable growth in agricultural rates. He also hailed the exponential rise in unicorn startups, symbolizing the prowess of India’s youth on the global stage.

Acknowledging the significant increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Shah credited PM Modi’s steadfast governance for instilling confidence among 140 crore Indians. He highlighted the government’s commitment to political stability, corruption-free administration, welfare policies, investment-friendly reforms, and a tranquil environment.

Shah underscored Uttarakhand’s role as a policy-driven state, citing its progress across various sectors, policies, and infrastructure development. Emphasizing the state’s corruption-free governance and investment potential, he commended PM Modi’s nationwide efforts in promoting transparency and combating corruption.

Additionally, Shah highlighted Uttarakhand’s vast potential in tourism, services, MSMEs, logistics, IT, and AYUSH, endorsing it as a peaceful and secure state offering immense opportunities.

The remarks made by Amit Shah underscored India’s development trajectory and Uttarakhand’s transformation, signifying a robust vision for economic growth and prosperity under the leadership of PM Modi.
