PM Modi to Inaugurate Gurugram Metro Project and AIIMS Rewari on Feb 16

In a significant move aimed at bolstering infrastructure and healthcare facilities in Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Gurugram Metro project and lay the foundation stone for the AIIMS Rewari project on February 16. This announcement comes as a major milestone for the region, promising enhanced connectivity and access to advanced medical services.

The Gurugram Metro project, with a total cost of ₹5,452 crore, has long been awaited by residents of the old Gurugram region. The extension project, approved by the Union cabinet in June 2023, will stretch from the Huda City Metro station (now Millennium City Centre Metro station) to Cyber Hub, covering a distance of 26.65 kilometers. Additionally, a 1.85-kilometer spur to the Dwarka Expressway has also been sanctioned, ensuring comprehensive metro coverage for the area.

Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its significance in integrating the old city into the metro network. The extension is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and provide commuters with a convenient and sustainable mode of transportation.

Furthermore, the inauguration ceremony will witness the launch of the AIIMS Rewari project, marking the establishment of the 22nd such institute across the country. Spanning over 210 acres, the AIIMS Rewari campus is estimated to cost ₹1231 crore. The hospital will boast 750 beds and an outpatient facility catering to 1,500 patients daily. Additionally, it will house a 100-seat medical college, 25 super specialty departments, and a nursing college.

The AIIMS Rewari campus is designed to offer comprehensive healthcare services, complemented by state-of-the-art infrastructure including a guest house, a 1000-seat auditorium, hostel accommodations, residential facilities, and a night shelter. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to expanding healthcare access and promoting medical education in underserved regions.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for several other projects across Haryana. To ensure widespread participation, a parallel event will be organized in Gurugram, allowing citizens to witness the historic moment via live telecast.

The announcement of these transformative projects signifies a significant step forward in the development journey of Haryana, promising enhanced connectivity and healthcare facilities for its residents. With the foundation stones laid, anticipation builds for the realization of these initiatives, poised to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for the region.
