Chaurasia, who was booked for rash driving that killed one woman and injured eight others, reportedly shouted the phrase “another round” after the accident—a reference to the film starring Mads Mikkelsen.
Police Link Chaurasia’s Chant to Danish Film
According to a report in The Times of India, police officials stated that Chaurasia’s exclamation was linked to Another Round. A poster of the 2020 film was reportedly found in his rented flat in Vadodara. The film follows four high school teachers experimenting with maintaining a steady alcohol level in their bloodstream to boost creativity and confidence. The film, released in Denmark as Druk (Binge Drinking), won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
While Vadodara Police suspect that Chaurasia was influenced by the film’s themes, it remains unclear whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The Vadodara Car Crash Incident
The tragic incident occurred in Vadodara when Chaurasia’s car collided with multiple vehicles, including two Activa scooters and an electric vehicle, leading to one fatality and injuries to eight others. The brutal crash left one woman dead on the spot. The accused was caught on video shouting “another round” next to his damaged car moments after the collision.
Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar confirmed that Chaurasia is in custody and that further investigations are underway to determine whether intoxication played a role in the accident.
