In a significant move, global OTT major Disney+ Hotstar has signed an exclusive content deal with award winning film director Vipin Agnihotri’s newly formed digital content studio Big Shot.

As part of the multi-year deal, Big Shot will supply all its content – fiction and non-fiction series as well as films – only to Disney + Hotstar.

“Disney+ Hotstar’s global vision matches with our legacy of providing a gamut of offerings and allowing creative freedom. Our alliance with Disney+ Hotstar is very organic,” Vipin Agnihotri said.

While the two companies refused to share the details of the deal, including the total number of series or films, sources say that it’s a long-term deal that spans across genres.

Big Shot will create content across formats including scripted as well as non-scripted content and films, which will directly release on Disney+ Hotstar platform.
