In a desperate bid to fulfill his desire of marrying the woman of his dreams, a 27-year-old man named Chhotu resorted to an unusual act. He stole a sacred Shivling from a temple located in the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, following the belief that divine intervention might persuade his family to accept his choice of a life partner. However, his actions didn’t go unnoticed, and the police have since arrested him, successfully recovering the stolen Shivling.
Chhotu’s story unfolded as a tale of love and devotion, mixed with a hint of desperation. Facing resistance from his family over his choice of a life partner, he turned to prayer at a local Shiva temple. Chhotu fervently believed that his daily visits and heartfelt prayers to Lord Shiva would sway the minds of his family members and grant him the opportunity to marry the woman he loved.
For an entire month, Chhotu dedicated himself to his religious routine, offering prayers at the village’s Shiva temple. However, as the days passed, it became apparent that his fervent appeals had fallen on deaf ears. His prayers went unanswered, and his family remained steadfast in their opposition to his chosen match.
In a moment of desperation, Chhotu took a drastic step. In the early hours of September 1, he decided to steal the sacred Shivling from the temple premises. He then concealed the stolen artifact in nearby bushes, hoping perhaps that his act would finally bring about the change he sought.
When villagers discovered the Shivling missing from the temple, they promptly alerted the police. A team from the Mahewa Ghat Police station initiated an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of the religious idol.
Circle Officer Abhishesk Kumar, overseeing the case, revealed, “Chhotu stole the Shivling from the temple during the early hours of September 1 and hid it in the bushes.” Following initial suspicion, Chhotu was detained by the authorities on September 3. In a confession, he admitted to the theft, leading to the recovery of the Shivling from its concealed location.
The stolen Shivling has since been reinstated in its rightful place within the temple. Chhotu, on the other hand, has been taken into custody and is now facing judicial proceedings for his desperate act of theft in the name of love and faith.
This curious incident serves as a poignant reminder of the lengths to which individuals may go when confronted with seemingly insurmountable obstacles in matters of the heart and conviction.
