A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded near Marapalam in Tamil Nadu as a tourist bus accident claimed the lives of at least eight people, among them three women, and left several others with serious injuries. The devastating incident occurred when a tourist bus, carrying approximately 55 passengers, met with a fatal accident, plunging into a 100-foot-deep gorge on a Saturday evening.

Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Coimbatore Zone, Saravana Sundar, confirmed the grim news, stating, “Around eight people died, while a few were seriously injured in the accident. Further investigation is underway.” Palani Samy, Joint Director of Coonoor Government Hospital, added his confirmation to the tragic toll, revealing that among the deceased were three females and five males.
