In a joint operation conducted by local police and the Indian Army, security forces successfully neutralized a terrorist associated with the proscribed outfit The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in the Kathohalan area of Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter, which commenced in the early hours of Thursday, resulted in the elimination of the terrorist, whose identity is yet to be disclosed pending further investigation.
During the operation, security forces recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, from the encounter site. The ongoing search operation aims to ensure the area is clear of any further threats, as security forces continue their efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
The Kashmir Zone Police provided an update on the encounter through a social media post, stating, “#ShopianEncounterUpdate: One (01) #terrorist affiliated with proscribed #terror outfit TRF neutralized. Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow.”
