Sanjay Dutt Denies Political Entry Amid Rumors: "I Am Not Joining Any Party or Contesting Elections"

Speculation surrounding actor Sanjay Dutt’s potential foray into politics has been put to rest as the actor himself clarified that he is not venturing into political life at this time. Responding to recent rumors about his political aspirations, Sanjay took to social media to address the issue directly.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sanjay stated, “I would like to put all rumors about me joining politics to rest. I am not joining any party or contesting elections. If I do decide to step into the political arena then I will be the first one to announce it. Please refrain from believing what is being circulated in the news about me as of now.”

This declaration comes amidst ongoing buzz suggesting Sanjay’s potential involvement in politics, with past instances where he had been linked to political parties. In 2019, reports surfaced that he was approached to join Rashtriya Samaj Paksha, which he had refuted.

Fans of the actor expressed mixed reactions to the news. Some urged him to remain focused on his acting career, stating, “Don’t join politics… You are a great actor & we want to see you as an actor.” Others welcomed his decision, respecting his choice to steer clear of political engagements.

Sanjay’s association with politics has been sporadic over the years. While there were talks of him joining the Samajwadi Party in the past, including a brief stint as its general secretary, he has not pursued a full-fledged political career. His late father, actor Sunil Dutt, was a prominent Congress MP, adding to the family’s political legacy.

Amidst this backdrop, other Bollywood personalities such as Kangana Ranaut and Govinda have recently made headlines for their political affiliations. Kangana is set to contest as a BJP candidate, while Govinda has aligned with Eknath Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena.

On the professional front, fans can anticipate seeing Sanjay Dutt in upcoming films such as the sci-fi horror comedy “The Virgin Tree” alongside Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari. Additionally, he is part of the ensemble cast of “Welcome To The Jungle” alongside Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Disha Patani, slated for release on December 20, 2024.
