Dr. Praveen Arora’s journey in medicine began with his early education in Kurukshetra, followed by medical studies at JNM College, A.M.U. Aligarh. Graduating with an M.S. in Ophthalmology in 1984, Dr. Arora embarked on a mission to bring advanced eye care to his hometown. After gaining valuable experience at Venu Eye Institute and S.R.D. Eye Hospital Sirsa, he established Praveen Eye Hospital on Hisar Road, Sirsa, in 1989.

Dr. Arora is renowned for his comprehensive approach to ophthalmology, excelling in a variety of surgical procedures. His expertise spans topical phacoemulsification with various types of intraocular lenses (IOLs) including mono-focal, bifocal, trifocal, and toric lenses. Additionally, the hospital performs FLACS (Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery), a cutting-edge robotic technique for precise cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation. Since 1998, he has organized free eye operation camps on the second Sunday of every month. As President of the Sirsa Fatehabad Ophthalmological Society, Dr. Arora has been a key figure in various community health initiatives. He was the Organizing Chairman of the Annual Conference of the Haryana Ophthalmological Society held in Sirsa on September 20-21, 2019, and the All India Ophthalmological Society Academic and Research Committee Symposium held in Sirsa on September 24, 2023. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Haryana Ophthalmological Society in Gurugram on November 24, 2018, and the Chikitsak Gaurav Award from the Haryana Medical Council by Health Minister Haryana Shri Anil Vij on July 31, 2022.

Continuing the family legacy, Dr. Nikita Arora has brought new dimensions to Praveen Eye Hospital. Born in 1991, Dr. Nikita Arora completed her education at Satluj Public School, Sirsa, followed by an M.B.B.S. from M.G.M. Medical College, Navi Mumbai. She then pursued an M.S. in Ophthalmology from Mahatma Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur. With a keen interest in retina care, she completed a Medical Retina Fellowship at HV Desai Eye Hospital, Pune, and specialized training in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and Pediatric Retinal Disorders at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.

Dr. Nikita Arora’s expertise in medical retina has greatly enhanced the hospital’s capabilities. She is adept at various procedures, including topical phacoemulsification, diabetic retinopathy screening and laser treatment, ROP screening and laser, intravitreal injections, and refractive surgery. Her contributions have been recognized through multiple awards for paper and poster presentations at ophthalmology conferences, and her research is published in peer-reviewed journals.
