According to a recent survey conducted by India Today, Odisha’s Naveen Patnaik has emerged as the most popular chief minister in the country, with a popularity rating of 52.7 percent. Following closely behind is Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, securing the second position with a popularity rating of 51.3 percent.

The survey, known as the ‘Mood of the Nation’ survey, aimed to gauge the popularity and approval ratings of chief ministers across the nation. Assam’s chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma clinched the third position with a rating of 48.6 percent, while Gujarat’s Bhupendra Patel and Tripura’s Manik Saha secured the fourth and fifth positions respectively, with ratings of 42.6 percent and 41.4 percent.

The survey results have garnered praise for Tripura’s chief minister Manik Saha, with locals commending his dedication, simplicity, and the developmental strides achieved under his leadership. Shopkeepers and residents in Tripura expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the state, attributing it to Chief Minister Saha’s efforts.

Deepak Debnath, a shop owner in Kashipur, expressed his contentment with the state’s progress under Chief Minister Saha’s leadership. “We are in very good condition under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha. Under his guidance, each and every person in Tripura is gradually developing,” Debnath stated.

Manik Saha, a dentist-turned-politician affiliated with the BJP, assumed office as the chief minister for a second consecutive term in March 2023. He has been instrumental in driving development initiatives in Tripura since joining politics.

Naveen Patnaik, a prominent figure in Indian politics and a member of the Biju Janata Dal, has served as the chief minister of Odisha for over 22 years. His consistent popularity reflects the trust and confidence reposed in his leadership by the people of Odisha.

Yogi Adityanath, the 22nd chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, secured a historic second consecutive win in the 2022 UP assembly elections. His continued popularity underscores his significant political influence in the state.

The survey results highlight the diverse political landscape across states in India and provide insights into the public perception of chief ministers’ performance and popularity.
