Noida Police Imposes Hefty Fines on Vehicles Throwing Cash, Arrests Five

A video clip circulating on social media platforms depicted a startling scene in Noida as individuals aboard speeding SUVs carelessly tossed currency notes into the air. The video, capturing multiple cars moving at high speeds from Sector 37 to the city center, showcased individuals recklessly hanging out of vehicle windows and standing on roofs, flinging money as they drove through the streets at night.

The irresponsible behavior displayed in the video garnered widespread criticism from internet users, denouncing the disregard for traffic rules and expressing concerns about the safety risks posed by such reckless actions.

Responding swiftly to the viral video, Noida Traffic Police initiated strict measures against the offenders. Each of the twelve vehicles involved faced a substantial penalty, with fines amounting to ₹33,000 per vehicle for various traffic violations. Additionally, law enforcement apprehended five individuals in connection with the incident.

In a tweet, the Noida Traffic Police confirmed their actions, stating, “Taking cognizance of the above video, seizure/e-challan action (fine totaling ₹3,96,000/-) has been taken as per rules against the concerned vehicles for violating traffic rules.”

The authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, delving into the authenticity of the currency notes thrown from the vehicles. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and the police are actively probing the circumstances surrounding the act of tossing money from the moving vehicles.

The incident, captured on video, drew attention to the need for stringent enforcement of traffic regulations and responsible behavior on the roads. The swift action taken by the Noida Traffic Police serves as a stern warning against reckless driving practices and highlights the repercussions individuals might face for endangering public safety through such actions.
