Brazen Robbery at Delhi Jewellery Store Unveils New Details

New information has come to light regarding the audacious ₹25 crore heist at Umrao Singh Jewellers in Delhi, making it one of the city’s most significant robberies in recent history. Sources suggest that a party taking place in the vicinity may have inadvertently facilitated the thieves’ access to the jewellery store.

The robbery unfolded in the Bhogal area on a Sunday night, marking a remarkable heist that has since grabbed headlines. According to sources, the perpetrators entered the jewellery store through an adjoining house, typically secured at night. However, on the fateful night, the gate to the neighboring property was left open due to a gathering of tenants on the first floor who were reportedly enjoying a party.

Seizing the opportunity presented by the open gate, the robbers climbed onto the roof of the house and then proceeded to access the roof of the jewellery shop, which lacked a road behind it, making it an ideal target.

In executing their meticulously planned heist, the thieves disabled the CCTV cameras within the shop and managed to breach the locker where valuable ornaments were stored. In addition to these stolen items, the culprits made off with jewellery that had been on display in the store. The shocking discovery of the robbery was made by the shop owner when he reopened his showroom on Tuesday morning, as the store had remained closed on Monday.

Authorities suspect that a group comprising 4-5 individuals may have been involved in orchestrating the daring heist. Furthermore, investigators are exploring the possibility of an inside job, as an employee of the jewellery shop had been absent from work for the past 15 days, raising suspicions of potential involvement in the theft.

The case continues to unravel, with law enforcement agencies diligently pursuing leads to bring the culprits to justice and recover the stolen valuables.
