Sunil Pal Kidnapping Case: Meerut Police Announces ₹25,000 Reward for Five Absconding Accused

In the ongoing investigation into the kidnapping of comedian Sunil Pal, the Meerut Police have declared a reward of ₹25,000 for each of the five absconding individuals involved in the crime. The police are intensifying their efforts to track down and arrest the accused, who remain on the run.

The five wanted individuals, identified as Lavi Pal alias Sushant alias Himanshu, Akash alias Gola alias Deependra, Shiva, Ankit alias Pahadi, and Shubham, are at the center of the investigation. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada, authorities have launched continuous raids in an attempt to capture the suspects. The police have already made one arrest in the case, with Arjun Karnwal taken into custody after a police encounter.

Sunil Pal, a popular stand-up comedian and actor, was allegedly kidnapped on December 2 under the guise of being invited to perform at an event. The abductors held Pal hostage for nearly 24 hours, during which they extorted ₹8 lakh in ransom from his family before releasing him. The kidnapping ordeal was followed by a formal complaint from Pal’s wife, Sarita, who registered a zero FIR in Mumbai. The case was later transferred to the Lal Kurti police station in Meerut, where local police took over the investigation.

In response to the swift action by the Uttar Pradesh Police, Sunil Pal expressed his gratitude on social media, praising the efforts of the police, the state government, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their support in resolving the case.

The incident follows a similar kidnapping case involving Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan, who was recently held hostage in Bijnor, Western UP. Authorities have also revealed that the same gang of criminals was reportedly plotting to kidnap veteran actor Shakti Kapoor under the pretext of inviting him to an event.

The investigation continues as police work to bring the remaining accused to justice and ensure the safety of high-profile individuals in the region.
