Man Returns to Kerala Village to Find 11 Family Members Dead in Landslides

In a tragic turn of events, a man returning to his village in Kerala found himself facing unimaginable loss as 11 members of his family were confirmed dead following devastating landslides. Naufal, who had left his hilly village of Mundakkai for Oman three months ago in search of a better future for his family, was met with a heart-wrenching sight upon his return.

Naufal had departed for Oman with hopes of improving his family’s living conditions, but his journey took a grievous turn when he learned of the landslides that ravaged his village. The natural disaster claimed the lives of his father, mother, wife, children, brother, sister-in-law, and their children.

Upon arriving at the disaster site on Monday, Naufal was confronted with the grim reality of his loss. The once-familiar landscape of his village was now a heap of debris and sand, where his home had once stood. The sight of Naufal, wandering aimlessly and weeping over the remnants of his house, left onlookers in tears.

A relative of Naufal shared the profound sorrow, saying, “Naufal left for Oman only three months ago. When he returned to the village today, nothing was left for him… Eleven members of his family have been lost in the landslides.”

Naufal had arrived in Kerala a day after learning about the tragedy but only made it to Mundakkai on Monday. The grief-stricken man was seen struggling to come to terms with the magnitude of his loss, covering his face and sobbing as he wandered through the devastation.

The community, devastated by the magnitude of the disaster, is rallying to support Naufal in his time of need. The tragedy highlights the severe impact of natural disasters on families and communities, leaving behind a trail of sorrow and loss.
