A lift malfunction at Yatharth Hospital in Noida’s Sector 110 resulted in four individuals sustaining minor injuries after the lift unexpectedly descended from a height of eight feet. Thankfully, all the injured parties are now safe and receiving necessary medical treatment.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at around 3:30 pm, according to Hirdesh Katheriya, additional deputy commissioner of police, Central Noida. The mishap took place in a service lift that only travels between the ground floor and the lower basement (minus two-level). Four staff members of the hospital were in the lift at the time, transporting dialysis equipment.
As per the initial investigation, the lift malfunctioned while descending to the lower basement, causing it to free-fall from a height of eight feet. Hospital authorities were promptly alerted, and a rescue operation was initiated. The injured individuals were quickly transported to the hospital’s emergency ward for immediate treatment.
The individuals who sustained injuries have been identified as Siddhanath Kumar, 23, a resident of Baraula village, Srishti Srivastava, 20, from Bhangel, Arjun Chandra, 22, residing in Salarpur village, and Sukhdev Singh, 28, from Sultanpur village in Noida.
Thankfully, hospital officials have confirmed that all injured staff members are out of danger and are currently under medical supervision.
Sunil Balyan, the medical superintendent of Yatharth Hospital, described the incident as a minor one where the lift descended from a relatively small height. “The staffers were immediately rescued and provided with treatment for their injuries. The local police post in charge was informed of the incident, and the injured individuals are being cared for at the hospital and are now out of danger,” he stated.
Despite the incident, the police have reported that no formal complaint has been filed in this matter.
