HD Revanna, the father of Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna, has spoken out against the recent allegations of a sex scandal involving his son. The controversy has gained attention as a woman filed a police case against Prajwal Revanna and his father over alleged sexual assault.
HD Revanna dismissed the allegations as a conspiracy orchestrated by rivals. He pointed out that the videos in question were “4-5 years old” and suggested that they were being used to create a false narrative against his son.
Prajwal Revanna, a Janata Dal (Secular) MP and grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has denied the allegations. He has also filed a police complaint regarding the circulation of obscene videos, claiming that they were morphed.
When questioned about the FIR registered against him as well, HD Revanna refrained from direct comments on the political implications, stating that the Congress, currently in government, would act as they see fit. He highlighted past instances where the Deve Gowda family had faced similar controversies.
The survivor in the case alleged sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging of her dignity. She claimed that both Prajwal Revanna and his father sexually assaulted her, with Prajwal Revanna also misbehaving with her daughter over a video call.
The controversy surrounding Prajwal Revanna comes at a crucial time as he is seeking re-election in the Lok Sabha as a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan. The situation has garnered significant attention amid the political landscape in Karnataka.
As the investigation continues with a special investigation team looking into the case, HD Revanna refrained from further comments, emphasizing the need for legal procedures to unfold. The controversy remains a focal point in the political and social spheres, awaiting developments as the case progresses.
