K Chandrashekar Rao Steps Forward Post-Surgery: First Video Emerges After Hip Replacement

K Chandrashekar Rao, the former Chief Minister of Telangana, marked a significant step in his recovery journey as the initial video footage emerged, showcasing him walking with medical assistance at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad post his total left hip replacement surgery.

The surgery was necessitated by a fall the leader had experienced at his farmhouse in Erravalli near Hyderabad, resulting in a fracture. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader underwent the procedure, capturing attention and concern from across the political spectrum.

In a statement issued by KCR’s son and party leader KT Rama Rao, the circumstances leading to the surgery were outlined. “Sri Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao garu had a slip and fall in his Bathroom at his Residence and subsequently brought to Yashoda Hospital Somajiguda for further care. On evaluation, including CT scans he was found to have left Hip fracture [Intracapsular Neck of femur fracture]. He would require left hip replacement for the same and the usual course of recovery for such cases is expected to be six to eight weeks,” shared KTR.

Providing an update on the surgery, the hospital released a health bulletin stating, “Rao has undergone the planned operation of left Total Hip Replacement. He has tolerated the surgery well and was stable haemodynamically throughout the procedure.” The bulletin further mentioned that post-surgery, Rao was shifted to a room and is currently in the recuperation phase. The anticipated timeline for recovery stands at six to eight weeks.

Wishes and concerns poured in for the ailing leader from various political figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu. The outpouring of support highlights the widespread regard and goodwill Rao commands across party lines.

As the former CM embarks on his recovery journey, the emergence of the video displaying his initial steps marks a promising start to his recuperation.
