Israeli Missile Strikes Lebanese Journalist’s Home During Live Interview

A Lebanese journalist, Fadi Boudaya, editor-in-chief of Miraya International Network, narrowly escaped serious injury when an Israeli missile struck his home during a live television interview on Monday. The incident, which occurred in the midst of escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, has since gone viral on social media.

Footage from the interview captured Boudaya mid-sentence before he abruptly screamed as the explosion rocked his surroundings, causing him to lose balance and be thrown off-screen. Despite the traumatic experience, Boudaya reported only minor injuries and later reassured his followers through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Thank you to everyone who called, texted, checked in, and to everyone who felt any emotion,” he wrote. “Thank God, I am fine, thanks to God and His blessings upon us, and we return to continue our media duty in support of the resistance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The attack on Boudaya comes amid a surge in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group, as both sides engage in intense cross-border conflict since the eruption of the Gaza war last October. The situation has escalated recently, particularly following a cyberattack that targeted Hezbollah members’ communication devices.

On Monday alone, Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon resulted in over 550 fatalities, including 50 children. Following the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video message advising Lebanese citizens to evacuate their homes. “Once the operation is finished, they can return to their homes,” he stated.

The airstrikes continued on Tuesday, claiming the life of Ibrahim Qubaisi, the head of Hezbollah’s missile division. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Qubaisi’s death, identifying him as a key figure in Hezbollah’s missile operations. At least two other high-ranking commanders were also reportedly killed in the strikes, which primarily targeted the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut.

The ongoing violence has seen Hezbollah retaliate by firing over 300 rockets into northern Israeli cities, escalating the already tense situation along the border. As the conflict continues, both sides remain on high alert, with fears of further violence looming.
