“Huge Fire Hits Homes in Mumbai’s Dombivli East”

Date:

A significant fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in Mumbai’s Dombivli East, engulfing the Casa Aurelia building in Phase 2 of the Lodha Palava township. The incident, reported at approximately 1:23 pm, was attributed to a short circuit on the 8th floor, rapidly spreading to multiple apartments in the building.

According to the Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell, no injuries have been reported thus far, as all occupants successfully evacuated the building before the fire escalated. Despite the recent construction, residents had occupied only up to the third floor, while the fire reached apartments on the 18th floor.

Firefighting teams, with two fire vehicles, were promptly dispatched to the scene, working tirelessly to bring the blaze under control. The fire, which spread to the duct area where fibre sheets were installed on each floor, prompted a swift and coordinated response from the firefighting personnel.

After hours of intense efforts, the fire was successfully extinguished around 2:30 pm, and cooling operations are currently underway to ensure complete safety. Officials from the Palava Fire Station confirmed that, at present, there are no reported casualties in the incident.

Viral videos circulating on social media captured the intensity of the blaze, with huge flares of fire erupting from the building and smoke billowing into the sky. The incident highlights the critical role of emergency response teams and the resilience of residents in promptly evacuating the premises, preventing any injuries during the unfortunate incident.

Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and assess the damage to the residential building. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in densely populated urban areas, emphasizing the need for awareness and preparedness to mitigate potential risks.
