JDU Leader Saurabh Kumar Fatally Shot, Companion Injured in Patna Attack

Late last night, tragedy struck as Saurabh Kumar, a youth leader affiliated with Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JDU), was brutally shot dead while returning from a wedding function in Patna. The incident, carried out by four unidentified assailants on bikes, also left his companion Munmun Kumar critically injured.

According to R Singh, the police station in-charge of Punpun, Saurabh was targeted with two gunshot wounds to his head, while Munmun sustained three gunshot wounds during the attack in Parsa Bazar village. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Saurabh succumbed to his injuries upon arrival, while Munmun was admitted in a serious condition for medical treatment.

The shocking incident prompted a swift response from the Patna Police, who initiated an immediate investigation into the matter upon reaching the crime scene. The local community, enraged by the senseless act of violence, expressed their anger through protests, leading to road blockades as a mark of outrage and demand for justice.
