In a significant show of support for the victims of the recent Wayanad landslide in Kerala, renowned Telugu actors Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan have generously contributed ₹1 crore to the Kerala CM Relief Fund. Their donation comes as a heartfelt response to the devastating natural disaster that has affected countless lives in the region.

Chiranjeevi took to social media to announce the contribution, expressing his deep distress over the tragedy. In a press note shared on X (formerly Twitter), he stated, “Deeply distressed by the devastation and loss of hundreds of precious lives in Kerala due to nature’s fury in the last few days.” He added, “My heart goes out to the victims of the Wayanad tragedy. Charan and I together are contributing ₹1 crore to the Kerala CM Relief Fund as a token of our support to the victims. My prayers for the recovery of all those in pain!”

The donation by Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan follows a similar gesture by actor Allu Arjun, who recently announced a donation of ₹25 lakh to the Kerala CM Relief Fund. Allu Arjun expressed his sorrow over the landslide and emphasized his desire to contribute to the rehabilitation efforts in the affected area.

The generous contributions from the film industry extend beyond Chiranjeevi’s family. Prominent actors including Suriya, Vikram, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, Nayanthara, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, and Rashmika Mandanna have also donated to the relief efforts. Notably, actor Mohanlal visited the affected region in his army uniform and pledged ₹3 crore for rehabilitation work.

Mammootty, who donated ₹35 lakh with his son Dulquer Salmaan, spoke to the press, underscoring the urgency of continued support: “At the moment, I have only contributed a small amount for the relief measures. I will contribute further if the need arises. They are all people like us whose lives have changed in two days. They need our help, and it’s up to all of us to assist them.”
